Welcome to Waterloo School
Thank you for visiting our website. Waterloo School was established in 1938 and has a proud history. We are a large school with a roll of over 500 students from New Entrants to Year 6. We have a diverse cultural mix of students who are motivated and keen to be actively involved in their learning. We enjoy the committed support of our community and we learn and grow together.
We have an aspirational culture with a belief in holistic education (developing the whole child). Our key priority is to set children up so they have the skills and active learning traits to be life-long learners and positive citizens. The school values of respect, responsibility and resilience sit at the heart of all we do.
When you first visit Waterloo School you will notice Te Oha, our waharoa (entrance way). Each of the panels was designed and painted by former students and represents an aspect of Waterloo School and our community. Our beautiful site, bordered by mature trees, allows for a range of school activities.
The school is divided into three syndicates; Junior (years 1 and 2), Middle (years 3 and 4) and Senior (years 5 and 6), each led by a senior teacher. Our staff are empowered to be educational leaders through collegial support and their own professional learning experiences, as we identify and respond to the developing needs of our future focussed learners.
We have an open door policy and I invite you to visit the school at any time to have a look around or to participate in any of the many activities we offer.
