We wish to enable students to take charge of their own learning and thus the concept of ‘Learner Agency’ is central to our pedagogy. We promote ‘inquiry as a disposition’ and have a school curriculum that values questions above answers, creativity above fact regurgitation, individuality above uniformity and excellence above standardized performance.
As Sir Paul Callaghan said, “You don’t need to teach a child curiosity. Curiosity is innate. You just have to be careful not to squash it. This is the challenge for the teacher—to foster and guide that curiosity.”
